LASH EXTENSIONS

If you’ve decided to level up your beauty and makeup game by  venturing into the world of lash extensions…WELCOME!! The time you will save ditching the mascara and strip lash extensions is invaluable! Here’s what you need to know!

Come to your eyelash extension appointment with a completely bare face. Avoid eye makeup, mascara, eye cream and any oily skin care products. It is important to ensure that your face is free from any products that can interfere with the eyelash extension glue. If you plan on working out, visit the gym and shower before your appointment. It’s critical to keep your eyelash extensions dry for 25 hours post application.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Everyone’s eyes are different and we all  have different ‘eye glam’ needs, so you’ll have a consultation with your lash artist before all the magic begins. Together you’ll decide on a suitable curl pattern ,lash length & look.
3 different types of looks: Natural look, mascara look, & gorgeous look available at KrisLash Beauty Studio with Synthetic mink or silk lashes.
Your lower lashes will be taped down to keep them out of the way and protected from the lash adhesive. This also provided a contrasts background for your lash artist to work with. It’s much easier to see all of your lashes against a white background. Your eyes will be closed for the entire process as the eyelash extensions are being applied. This is a great time to rest and relax. It’s not uncommon to fall asleep while the extensions are being applied. Enjoy the pampering!

POST CARE

1. Remember- in order for the adhesive to dry completely, you can’t get your lashes wet for 24 hours after the eyelash extensions are applied. If you’re a stomach or a side sleeper, you may want to invest in something like a travel pillow to help keep you on your back and elevated, to avoid crushing your lash extensions.

2. Makeup- Oil-free is the key! Oil-based eye makeup can weaken the bonding agents holding your extensions in place.

3. Face oils and eye creams can shorten the lifespan of your lash extensions. You’ll want to limit their usage as much as possible.

4. Avoid waterproof eye makeup.  The removal can weaken the glue on your lashes.

 5. Eyeliner – Many clients find that they no longer need eyeliner. However, for those special occasions or if you desire a more intense look, liquid or gel liner will be much easier on your eye lash extensions.

6.  Removing makeup – You’ll also need to stick to an oil-free make-up remover. Micellar water is a great option. It’s gentle on your lash extensions but is effective at removing your makeup. Cotton pads are a no-no as the fibers will stick to your lashes. Makeup removing pads and cottons swabs are much better options.

CLEANING AND BRUSHING

Cleanse lash extensions at least 2-3 times a week, or every night if you’re oily or a regular eye makeup wearer.Use a specific lash extension foaming cleanser to ensure you’re getting an anti-bacterial solution on your lashes to maintain eye and lash health.

Your lash artist will provide you with a spoolie brush. To keep your lashes looking fabulous and feathery, make sure you spend a few seconds every day to brush them.

Lashes grow and shed in cycles.

So it’s natural to have some lash fall out. Reach out to your lash artist to discuss any shedding that seems excessive. In any event, set an appointment for your next lash refresh/refill before you leave. Based on your lash growth cycle, you’ll soon be able to determine the best intervals for setting your appointments. Refills every 2-3 weeks is most common to maintain your initial lash volume. It’s important to note: as you become accustomed to your new lash look, you may desire a more voluminous look. This can easily be achieved at your next appointment. Just discuss it with your lash artist!

Welcome to the world of lash extensions!!!  You’re daily glam routine just got easier!!
